OPEN POSITION AT ICRAF – MVP (Milleneum Village Project) KISUMU
Responsible for:
- Compilation, entry and analysis of data
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
- General organization for data collection activities in the field;
- Development of system templates for data entry for various studies, entry, proofing and cleaning of data;
- Organizing data management and archiving in spreadsheets and database programmes;
- Perform statistical analysis of both biophysical and socio-economic data using appropriate tools;
- Provision of progress and status reports on site survey data and related activities to the Overall MVP Data Team Coordinator in New York.
- Assist students conducting research with the project in research design and data management;
- Assist in production of summarized monitoring and evaluation data/reports based on timely research in Millennium village as required;
- Entry of Sector –based Quarterly reports on the Millennium Villages Information System (MVIS).
- Overall responsibility for data entry activities including supervision of Data entry clerks.
Minimum qualifications and experience required for the position
- Bachelors degree or equivalent in Statistics or related field.
- Demonstrated ability to work with minimum supervision and to mobilise communities for data gathering.
- Fluency in English and Kiswahili are essential; fluency in Luo is highly desirable.
- Must have interpersonal, organizational and communication skills.
- Must be a team player.
- At least 1 year experience in data entry and analysis in a rural setting, particularly in Western Kenya.
