The research group BioDIVA at the Institute of Environmental Planning seeks to appoint a Post-doctoral researcher for the next possible date until January 2014.
BioDIVA is funded by the BMBF within the framework of social-ecological research and research for sustainability (SÖF/ FONA). The research group examines and develops methods for the generation of transformation knowledge to achieve and maintain gender-equitable and sustainable use of biodiversity for rice-farming-systems in Kerala, India.  A strong emphasis is placed on the development and application of inter- and transdisciplinary approaches.
The motivated scientist will analyse complex social-ecological systems, study changes in land use patterns and the effects on agrobiodiversity. The position is open to develop methodological approaches (i.e. models, scenarios etc.) to operationalise and synthesise in a participatory manner the economic, ecologic and social dimensions of sustainable development.
