Vacant at Oxfam India: Programme Officer - Gender

In line with Oxfam’s strategic plans and policy guidelines, to work under the leadership of the Regional Manager in planning, implementing and monitoring agreed objectives / issues with Oxfam partners, addressing issues of Ending Violence Against Women.  Participate in and contribute to the development of wider institutional strategy.

Key Responsibilities     

    * To support large funded programme /project partners at the state level addressing issues of Ending Violence Against Women through regular visits and undertake project appraisal, monitoring, evaluation, including financial monitoring.
    * To support the team in establishing link between micro-level project work and macro policy and practices and identify opportunities and strategies to influence policies and practices causing and perpetuating poverty and suffering specially VAW.
    * To undertake specific research and policy analysis exercise for programme development on Oxfam’s priority programme themes (e.g. gender equity etc.).  To develop an analysis of the context in which Oxfam implements its programme in the region and monitor the key trends causing poverty and suffering
    * To support development of advocacy position on Oxfam’s priority areas of work and effectively communicate it in various forums and to mass-media.  To design and undertake policy advocacy work including lobbying with government organisations, donors, private sector etc. as appropriate
    * To ensure minimum organisation standards in programme quality and take decisions on programme strategies and policies.
