If you can take over and develop a programme of scientific communication for an international research and development centre, then you are the person we are looking for. Working with an expert communications team, this position offers an exciting opportunity to collaborate with preeminent scientists in the area of agroforestry to make the impact of their work known throughout the world. The position is based in Nairobi, Kenya, and may require occasional travel to international locations.

You will guide our communications work in the following ways:

• Identify high-interest stories from the work of the World Agroforestry Centre and its collaborators, write stories in a range of styles and disseminate them through suitable channels. 
• Manage the news content of the Centre’s website and contribute to social media activities, especially in actively running the institutional blog. 
• Assist the research programmes and regions to develop and implement communication plans to complement their research activities.

The preferred candidate shall have a proven track record and experience in financial management in similar size and/or type organization with exceptional management, communication, and leadership skills. S/he shall be proactive, assertive and solution oriented.

Requirements:

1. University degree or preferably Master degree
2. 10 years with senior management experience
3. Previous non-profit sector experience would be an advantage
4. Strong organizational planning, managerial, and presentation skills
5. Professional Certificates CPA, Tax Brevet.
6. Indonesian citizen with excellent English language

The Program Director is responsible for managing and directing program staff to deliver results in our advocacy campaigns for human rights, corporate accountability and the preservation of the Amazon's ecological systems. The Program Director is also responsible for helping our program teams deliver effective support to indigenous and local communities in the regions of the Amazon where we work. This position reports to the Executive Director and is part of the senior management team at Amazon Watch.

Research Officer, REDD and Governance Forests and Governance Programme

Programme. 
Two of CIFOR’s six strategic research domains are: Enhancing the role of forests in climate mitigation and Enhancing the role of forests in adaptation to climate change. The Forests and Governance Programme contributes to each of these strategic research domains. The Research Officer will be part of a governance/climate team and will support the scientists in the governance programme. He/she will perform a variety of tasks, as needed and directed.
