The Chain of Custody (CoC) Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating and managing the execution of SmartWood CoC Certification services for new and existing SmartWood clients in the Asia-Pacific region. S/he will be directly involved in all aspects of CoC Certification assessment and audits, including scheduling, project management, customer service, consultant management and quality control. S/he will also provide training and mentoring to staff, consultants and assessors. The CoC Coordinator will directly supervise three CoC Associates.

Based: Denpasar, Bali, Indonesia

Qualifications

  • Degree in Forestry, Natural Resource Management or related field required; Advanced degree preferred;
  • 5 - 7 years of experience, minimum of 3 years work experience in forestry or related field;
  • Environmental management system auditor training experience preferred;
  • Knowledge of SW Certification and/or FSC certification a plus;
  • Experience in supervision, training and mentoring preferred;
  • Strong organizational, multi-tasking skills and attention to detail;
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Strong customer service skills;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel; familiarity with other MS Office applications;
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
  • Excellent spoken and written English and Bahasa Indonesia; other languages a plus; and
  • Willingness to travel 25%.

The Specialist will be responsible for providing forest management and verification services to support the sale and development of the market for SmartWood clients throughout the Asia-Pacific region, primarily with a focus on FSC, Forest Management, Controlled Wood, Carbon and Legality Verification services. S/he will also serve as Asia-Pacific Regional Office point person for forest management and verification services inquiries and issues.

Research Officer, REDD and Governance Forests and Governance Programme 
(Based in Bogor, Indonesia) 


Programme. 
Two of CIFOR’s six strategic research domains are: Enhancing the role of forests in climate mitigation and Enhancing the role of forests in adaptation to climate change. The Forests and Governance Programme contributes to each of these strategic research domains. The Research Officer will be part of a governance/climate team and will support the scientists in the governance programme. He/she will perform a variety of tasks, as needed and directed.
