Vacancy: Director of Global Maize Program

The International Maize and Wheat Improvement Center (CIMMYT) is seeking applications from outstanding, visionary, and highly-effective scientific leaders for the position of Director of a dynamic multidisciplinary team of scientists. The CIMMYT Global Maize Program (GMP) is challenged to provide solutions that will contribute to doubling maize yields in the developing world by 2050 under conditions of increasing scarcity of natural resources, impacts of climate change and consumer demand. The GMP is the foremost public provider of improved tropical maize germplasm and associated knowledge and information targeted to resource-poor farmers in the developing world, with a principal focus on developing stress tolerant and nutritionally enhanced maize. The program includes over 30 internationally recruited scientists and 150 research support staff posted in Colombia, Ethiopia, India, Kenya, Mexico, Nepal, and Zimbabwe.
